GKS Inspection Services has opened a second Pune office in the heart of the industrial zone of Bhosari specializing in onsite dimensional inspection and 3D laser scanning projects using a FARO Platinum CMM arm and Laser Design laser scanner.

A company that designs and fabricates active-function artificial finger prostheses for partial finger amputees contacted GKS Inspection Services about doing scans of two small hand casts for which they were creating prosthetic devices. The devices are body-powered, light-weight, and allow users to regain complete control of the flexion and extension movements of an artificial finger.

Dr. Suzanne Strait, a vertebrate paleontologist, has been creating archaeological research projects for over 10 years. GKS Inspection Services announced it is now offering daily, weekly and monthly rentals of FARO portable measurement equipment. Rentals of Platinum FaroArms, Faro ScanArms, and Faro LS / Photon Laser Scanners are available. For less experienced users, GKS can provide a trained engineer or metrologist to operate the FARO equipment and perform the needed measurements.
